Charlie Suchy promoted as next Great Bend Public Works Director

With the retirement of Don Craig this summer, the City of Great Bend was looking to fill the Public Works Director position. A selection committee consisting of Mayor Mike Allison, City Administrator Howard Partington, City Attorney Bob Suelter, and council member Vicki Berryman recommended that Charlie Suchy be appointed as the next director.

Allison said Suchy has always been very prompt with getting things done.

The Great Bend City Council passed the motion to appoint Suchy as the next Public Works Director by a 6-0 vote.

This November will mark Suchy’s 31^st year employed with the City of Great Bend.

Suchy says the main focus for the Public Works Department is the major waterline and water well improvement project the City is putting together that will spend over $6 million to make repairs.
