The USD 428 Education Foundation has been a great asset to Great Bend’s school district for the past 27 years.
The nonprofit foundation allows the schools and teachers to advance their teaching to help students in new ways. The foundation can close the gap for teachers with innovative ideas but a limited school budget.
USD 428 Superintendent Brad Reed mentioned at Monday’s school board meeting the foundation has contributed a lot of money to teachers through mini grants.

Including money given to help finance the “One District, One Book” reading initiative, the USD 428 Education Foundation will shell out more than $33,000 in mini grants for teachers next school year.

The 2016-2017 mini grants will impact 38 teachers and countless students. The foundation provides an opportunity for alumni, parents, community, businesses, and school supporters to make things happen in education.
