A county’s Comprehensive Plan is their important document regarding growth, development, and change.
The government policy helps guide public and private activities as they relate to land use. It is also the basis for land development regulations and decisions, capital improvement, transportation, new county programs, and decisions on the distribution of county budget dollars.
Barton County Zoning Administrator Judy Goreham says there were some zoning regulation changes around the main cities of the county.

The Comprehensive Plan covers the future land use and assists county leaders in decisions that consider long-term implications on the county. Zoning changes all took place near Cheyenne Bottoms.

Revisions for the 2016 Amendment include incorporation of all changes since its last update in 2015, to include the Zoning Regulations adopted in 2013.
The Comprehensive Plan also includes changes to the Future Land Use Map, all statistical data, and a complete clerical review. Anyone can view the Comprehensive Plan at the website, www.bartoncounty.org.
