Press Release from the Barton County Sheriff’s Office…
With the 2017 school year well underway, it is customary for the Barton County Sheriff’s office to determine areas in the county that present particular safety issues and conduct selective enforcement in those areas.
We look at areas with historically high accident rates and areas that citizens contact the Sheriff’s Office about excessive speed.
On Friday, October 20, 2017 The Sheriff’s Office will be working in the area of North East 30 Road from US 281 to K 156 Highway.
Officers will be looking for seat belt violations as well as speeding violations. Deputies will be in the area from 7 a.m. until about 9 a.m. and again from about 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.
We wish to remind everyone seat belts are required by Kansas law and to be careful in school zones and areas of high traffic congestion. Please drive safely.
