With only two weeks left until the first ever Vet Leader One-Day, the line-up of entrepreneurial speakers has been announced. The conference is scheduled for Friday, July 28 in Great Bend, Kansas from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“We are excited to bring together a panel of experts on all areas of running a business, including finance, accounting, marketing, leadership, and veterinary opportunities,” says Dr. Nels Lindberg, founder of the Vet Leader One-Day conference.

“Since only 1 of the 5 speakers is specific to the veterinary industry, we have been asked to open the invitation and include ALL business owners, not just veterinarians. We hope all types of professionals in the Midwest will attend this phenomenal continuing education event.”

Each of the keynote speakers is considered an expert in their industry, and will make sure that every participant will leave with at least one or two practical applications they can implement in their business right away.

 Jon Pope, CEO of People’s State Bank – Jon Pope is a leader in the finance industry, with experience in customer service, credit analysis, commercial banking and lending, as well as risk management.

 Jason Mayers, CFO of Marmies & Owner of MPIRE Properties – Jason Mayers has a history in all areas of finance. After many years as a CPA for a public accounting firm, he now owns his own property management company, MPIRE Properties. He also serves as the CFO for Marmies, a car dealership in Central Kansas.

 Rachel Mawhirter, Owner of Marketing Maven Consulting – Rachel Mawhirter is a young entrepreneur, with a knack for social media, public relations, and digital marketing strategy. She and her team help small businesses take advantage of modern marketing practices with measurable results.

 Dr. Dan Thompson, Professor for K-State College of Veterinary Medicine – Dr. Thompson is internationally known as a leader in animal welfare, beef cattle production, and cattle management. He is a published expert on nutrition, environment, and health of beef cattle as well as a reputable educator for Kansas State University, and a consultant for Production Animal Consultation (PAC).

 Dr. Nels Lindberg, Owner of Animal Medical Center & Consultant – Dr. Lindberg is asked to speak all over the country on veterinary practices as well as leadership. He has several published articles in peer reviewed publications, and is well known for his ability to say it like it is. As the founder of the Vet Leader One-Day Conference, his goal is to impart wisdom on prioritizing people – employees, customers, and family.

Registration will open at 10 a.m. at The Page Banquet Room, 2920 10th Street in Great Bend, with the first keynote address beginning at 11 a.m. Meals and refreshments are included, and attendees can look forward to a delicious 3-course rib eye luncheon along with an afterhours social featuring hors d’ouevres and an open bar. A few of the key sponsors will be exhibiting, and breaks will give participants time to network.

Tickets are $99 before July 15, or $129 after July 15. Those who register early will also receive a bonus gift at no additional charge. Veterinary students can attend at a reduced rate of $69 per person. The event is eligible for RACE continuing education credit.
