Dedication on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 reveals naming of the basketball court to “Kyle’s Court” at Camp Hope.
Donna Brown was nearly speechless this week when a special dedication revealed that the basketball court at Camp Hope was being named Kyle’s Court.
Brown is the founder of the camp that started in 1983 to give children with cancer or those that were diagnosed a camp of their own. Brown’s daughter passed away from leukemia and her son Kyle, for whom the court is named after, passed away from a brain tumor.

Camp Hope –Heartland, a non-profit organization, sponsors Camp Hope as it celebrates its 35th year. There are 75 campers this year enjoying the week-long camp at Camp Aldrich, just northeast of Great Bend.
Brown says many former campers come back to serve as volunteers, including 19 last year.

The camp that started Sunday, June 18 will close Saturday, June 24 for the participants and 118 volunteers.
