After the June Jaunt festival finished, the focus for Great Bend Community Coordinator Christina Hayes switched over to Party in the Park. August 12, 2017 will mark the fifth year of the day full of outdoor fun for all ages.
Hayes says there will be a few changes and additions this year for the event at Veterans Memorial Park in Great Bend. Instead of the obstacle mud run in the morning, there will be a wet/dry parade down 17th Street Terrace to the west.

Hayes says with help from the Great Bend Recreation Commission, Party in the Park will also host a mega-kite festival on the north side of Vet’s.
Over 700 people showed up for the concerts in the evening last year, and this year’s artists will be Ricky Fugitt, Homebrew, and Jason Boland.
