img_3512Just south of 10th Street in Great Bend, a new athletic training facility has been created in the old Primus Sterilizer warehouse.

Julie Spray recognized there are many young entrepreneurs looking for a place or building to start their own business. The Fieldhouse held their official grand opening ribbon cutting Thursday morning, introducing the community to the latest facility.

img_3513Chad Friess started a program for basketball skill development called Kansas Elevate Basketball, LLC in September of 2014. Friess says Kansas Elevate grew from eight children in the summer of 2015 to over 50 current children receiving training. Friess needed a more permanent place to run his program and that’s where Julie and Chris Spray entered the picture.

Spray purchased the old Primus building at 2817 9th Street and renovations were made for the facility now known as The Fieldhouse. The renovations allowed Friess a chance to rent out the permanent venue he was looking for to conduct his training.

Friess will conduct his basketball training from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and Matt Edwards is also making use of the facility for his Elite Fitness & Athletic Performance, LLC strength and conditioning sessions.

The Fieldhouse has a full-court basketball court with room for another court, 60 yards of turf, two batting cages, and offices available to rent. The facility and its features will be available to rent, but access to the facility will not be open to the public unless signed up for a training session through Friess or Edwards.
