At the beginning of September, there were 66 parcels on the Barton County Tax Sale. Less than two weeks away from the auction, there are still a high number of parcels available that have not had their property taxes brought up to date. County Treasurer Kevin Wondra says there are 56 properties left on the delinquent tax sale.
Wondra’s office is pushing to make contact with home owners, even out-of-state owners, to see if they want to redeem their properties.

This year’s auction will take place on Tuesday, October 11 in the Courthouse Conference Room at 10 a.m. Wondra says they have sent all the mailings out to warn owners their property is in jeopardy of getting listed on the Tax Sale.
Those looking to buy the parcels will only have to pay for the 2016 taxes and no past taxes.

Owners are able to redeem their parcels until noon on Friday, October 7. There were only 15 parcels on the auction list last year in Barton County.
